Musician’s Quest
Turn up the volume all you dare,
it doesn’t matter what,
…blues or jazz, country or rock,
as long as your reach that spot
where feelings deep inside of you
take over all your senses,
you reach that place of happiness,
with no need for defenses,
where life is simple, life is sweet,
musical Nirvana with a 4/4 beat!
I come from a musical family; at the moment I’m toying with a double bass.
aha!! truly spoke,… thats the joy of music… where there is no logic no genreno differences… just pure happiness!
Poetry = music in one’s head. Sounds and rhythm.
Exactly..right – using rhyme works best (some would say) with meter. This is a pretty solid ballad form. It isn’t constricted by it, it’s free in places but true to the topic, the meter drives the poem, gives it a bounce, and feeds us the poem. It is very enjoyable. Thank you for linking today. A good example of how to build a poem!
Thank you, Gay. When I write, rhythm trumps form; if the rhythm is there it works for me. Perhaps that’s why most of my poems rhyme?
Musick..yes with a K for magicK is always the Elixir for me for a new dimension of powered energy of youth free!…and wow! your words here phrase it much better than i think i can..but i’ll keep trying with a little rock and roll..and soul..and all the categories that keep my spirit and heart a moving in tune with the elixir of now…but anyway..smiles your poetry is great fun to me now..:)
Thank you, Katie. There wasn’t room in my poem for all the genres I enjoy- my musicK mix includes practically all types, classical to metal. I do draw the line at some hard-core rap- just can’t seem to get there.
This beat is fun, even I can hear this.
Yes, very musical, 4/4 with an strong iambic stress. Nice work!
Yep this rolls with a solid ballad beat.. Could very well be sung.
ah yes… it does good just to give in to the music and let it carry you a bit…
musical nirvana perfectly describes the inner joy a music-person feels…
“Beat me daddy, eight to the bar”. In this case, seven? : ) As my favorite Muse remarked to me the other day, “Where would we be without music and lyrics?”
with this I can relate completely…i have a variety of genres that I employ depending on my mood and need for some semblance of balance in life.
Variety is spice. I almost always listen to a random mix of artists and genres, from my own collection or an on-line site that I use.
