SEEKER
I wander the land with my jug in my hand, or tied to the sash ‘round my waist
I depend on the kindness of strangers to sustain me.
A worrisome life of struggle and strife
is the lot of the rest of humanity.
With the clothes on my back there is nothing I lack,
save my trusty container for food
a stream for my water, the forest for shelter
And Mother Earth’s beautiful moods
I wander the land with my head lost in thought
unable to comprehend yearning
That which I seek simply cannot be sought
no matter the depth of my learning
Seeking the unfindable is a curlycue goal
but a worthy one nevertheless
The world is a tapestry knit for the bold
on a journey reserved for the blessed.

The world is a tapestry knit for the bold…ha…i like… and i love to travel light as well… recently read about a couple that traveled europe for 3 weeks and they only had… he: a pant, shirt, shoes and what fit in his pant pockets— she: a dress, a scarf, sandals and what fit in her handbag…. i loved this…i would love to try this one day
Hi Claudia- I’ve traveled in business for years, and have learned how to go minimalist. I’ve trimmed my job (and life) down now so that I can do everything by phone, and I’m getting ready to roam. Seek. Bucket list stuff. I only lack two States having visited all 50- Alaska, here I come.
Glad you enjoyed.
I enjoyed the sentiment and loved the rhythm I found in this.
Ciao

Thank you, Pea. I think it’s my favorite of what I’ve written. It’s me, to the best of my metaphoric ability. 🙂
