SEEKER

I wander the land with my jug in my hand, or tied to the sash ‘round my waist

I depend on the kindness of strangers to sustain me.

A worrisome life of struggle and strife

is the lot of the rest of humanity.

With the clothes on my back there is nothing I lack,

save my trusty container for food

a stream for my water, the forest for shelter

And Mother Earth’s beautiful moods

I wander the land with my head lost in thought

unable to comprehend yearning

That which I seek simply cannot be sought

no matter the depth of my learning

Seeking the unfindable is a curlycue goal

but a worthy one nevertheless

The world is a tapestry knit for the bold

on a journey reserved for the blessed.
